Entry #9

An effective verbal communicator I think, I am not. I believe there is a lot of work for me to be an effective verbal communicator. Firstly I stutter a little when it comes to expressing myself or getting the right words to express myself. The words seem to be stuck to the tongue and it sometimes annoys me. I believe I need a lot of work in that area starting with slowing down the speed level of which i speak taking my time when i talk so, people can understand what i say.

In understand and demonstrating linguistic sensitivity i believe i have some sensitivity towards the subject. As it known understanding is not just knowing word for word but, taking the time to think about the person language, body movements and culture. Shows how prior and background knowledge can lead to a greater understanding can lead me into understanding of things some people might say. Just think about the words alone might be wrong but understanding there body language and culture can lead to a better understanding. I try to have this in my day to day interaction with people so I can understand them or have a better understanding of them.
